CRESSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A truck crashed inside a home Saturday afternoon after losing control.
It happened at around 5:30 p.m. along Gallitzin road in Cresson Township.
The homeowner, Karen Dunmeyer was inside when the vehicle hit her dining room.
Dunmeyer told 6 News it was only a matter of seconds between the moment she stepped out of her dining room before the truck crashed. She said she's still very shaken up about the whole thing but is thankful she is not hurt.
Some neighbors witnessed the whole thing and said it was surreal and scary.
"It was something out of a movie," said neighbor, Joy Gill. "It was so scary, so traumatic; I don't think I had time to think what my next step was going to be."
Neighbors also said the truck was traveling south on Route 53 before it lost control and crashed.
"I could hear Karen screaming," said Gill. "Eventually my husband and the other neighbors got her out and she was ok."
Gill described the incident after she witnessed it from across the street
"It hit my neighbors shed and then the shed just like exploded. It looked like something out of a movie," said Gill. "Debris went flying everywhere."
Neighbors who were driving past the house at the time of the incident said they froze in fear.
Neighbors added that vehicles too often drive over the speed limit down Gallitzin road, saying it's like a race track.
"Cars do come down here pretty fast. They do exceed the speed limit and it is scary," said Gill.
Police are still investigating the incident
The local fire chief told 6 News that the two people inside the truck were taken by ambulance.
Their conditions are undetermined at this time.
